Therapeutic yoga is the utilization of the ancient practice of yoga to manage dis-ease, reduce suffering, address symptoms, restore balance, and improve vitality. This is a self-empowering process where the client, through practice and with guidance, develops their own unique set of yogic tools to manage dis-ease and restore health and wellness. Therapeutic yoga addresses dis-ease in a integrative manner, taking in consideration all elements of being: body, mind, emotion, energy, and spirit.
The practice of yoga goes far beyond the physical postures we may consider when observing modern yoga. Yoga includes physical postures, mindful movement, breath awareness, breathing techniques, mindfulness, guided imagery, concentration, meditation, relaxation, using voice for sound/mantra, yogic philosophy, and more.
Styles of yoga utilized for your treatment may include hatha, gentle, yin, restorative, kundalini, and/or vinyasa. If these terms are foreign to you, no worries! Many of my clients are very new or brand new to yoga with little or no experience. I love working with beginners!
I offer therapeutic yoga for mental health and overall well-being. The process includes an initial intake session and discussion of goals, a yoga treatment plan, creating a yoga skills toolbox to meet your needs, designing a home practice made uniquely for you, and in-session practicing of yoga techniques and sequences. Some clients come for a few sessions and take their practice home completely; others come weekly, bi-weekly, or as-needed for in-office support and ongoing treatment and yoga planning. Each client's needs are unique, therefore each treatment plan's content and duration is unique to the client. Therapeutic yoga is offered as a stand-alone service or as a piece of Holistic Health Coaching or Counseling.
Initial/Intake Session: 90 minutes/ $170 *includes first session, initial yoga treatment plan, and initial home practice plan
Following Sessions: Depending on your needs: 50 minutes/ $100 or 80 minutes/ $150 *includes following yoga plans and home practices
